lost but not found

I can't find my laundry card. [edited: we need the card to use the washer and dryer]  I tore my place upside down looking for that card. I have to wait till Monday to get a new card from management. It's a good thing that I have a couple-of-days-worth of clean clothes.

So the library took one of my books from my hold. When we request library books, we have to include a date as to how long we want to wait for the books. Normally I add an extra month beyond the publishing date for my hold. Unfortunately the book that I wanted, Sworn to Silence by Linda Castillo, was very popular and finally the book was ready for me, but was taken away because my hold date had expired. Luckily I know the librarian and she was able to put me at the top of the list to get the book again. I did come home with Huckleberry Finished by Livia J. Washburn, Blood Game by Iris Johansen and Abandoned by Cody Mcfadyen.

Word of the day: PLEBEIAN - of a low social class

On this day in 1892, The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes by Arthur Conan Doyle is published.

October reading round-up: This month I've read 20 books and discovered 3 new-to-me authors: Lisa Bork, Lucy Lawrence and Heather Webber. I've read the following types of books: 10 cozy mysteries, 4 romantic suspense, 3 thrillers, 2 mystery/suspense and 1 romance.

I'm reading Sink Trap by Christy Evans, the first book in the new "Georgiana Neverall" cozy mystery series.

At first I wondered what a laundry card was but then I came to the conclusion it's card to allow you IN the laundry room. :)

Good thing about having clean clothes! Sworn to Silence was GOOD.
I always wish I could read as many books a month as you do! Will you be trying Heather Webber's new book due out next year? (Truly, Madly ?)
I seriously hope you like Sink Trap!
Have a nice evening.

Yippee! I found my laundry card this morning in the shirt that I wore down to the laundry room before I changed my clothes to go to my class. Now my routine will not be disrupted.

Yay on finding your card! Cool about getting at the top of the list on that book!!!!

I'll do the tag thing later this week, as soon as I get caught up a little. Hubby is sick so I had to do all the kid stuff, then with the new kitty I fell behind on pages! Thanks for nominating me though! I think it'll be perfect for my Friday blog :-) Of course, everyone's blog I read has been nominated!
