power walking class

Today was the first day of my indoor power walking class. It was great to see the instructor and one other participant who I took another class with. The first half hour was spent going over what to expect out of the class and a greet and meet session with the other class members. We start the class with warm-ups, then stretches before we start the power walking. Light aerobics to increase our heart rate and then we conclude with a cool-down and final stretches before the class ends. All in all today was good and right now my goal is endurance and then towards the end it will be to increase the speed of the walking segment.

Quilting update: Still machine-quilting the quilt sandwich. I have the other half left to quilt-stitch. I did name the quilt and stitched the label on the back.

Word of the day: Compunction - feeling of uneasiness caused by guilt or regret

Trivia: On this day in 1886, Thomas Edison, 19 years old, filed for a patent on his first invention. The electric machine was used for counting votes for the U.S. Congress, however the Congress did not buy it.

on TV tonight: Cold Case

I'm reading For Better, For Murder by Lisa Bork, debut author's first novel from the "Broken Vows" mystery series

Was your knee feeling better for class? And is the Power Walking something you could do on your own in between classes?

Have fun with it!

Sounds like a great class.

I missed Cold Case. It was going to come on later because of the football game. That's one thing I hate when the shows start later than usual because of the long games.
