a quiet Monday

The big news around here is....The Yankees are playing in the World Series.

Word of the day: ONEROUS - troublesome and oppressive; burdensome

Trivia: On this day in 1774, The First Continental Congress of the U.S. adjourned in Philadelphia. And on this day in 1949, U.S. President Harry Truman raised the minimum wage from 40 to 75 cents an hour.

Steps taken today: 10,343

on TV tonight: Dancing With The Stars, Castle

I'm still reading Storm Cycle by Iris Johansen and Roy Johansen

I've been waiting all night to see Castle - it's finally going to start in 10 minutes!

Wow. 40 cents to 70 cents an hour is actually quite a raise. Though it's hard to believe that the cost of living has changed so much between 1940 and 2009. Now 70 cents is absolutely nothing.

I live in the land of Red Sox, so there isn't a lot of celebrating going on here, lol.

But, hey, what do I care? I'm a SF Giants fan. *G*

Go Yankees!
