I took a short trip to Charlotte, North Carolina to visit my freshman niece. She wanted to show me her dorm, her campus and the mall nearby. I had a suspicion that in the mall I would be talked into giving up several of my dollars. My suspicion was met. Dollars was spent but all for a good cause - she needed food/snacks and a tote to carry her books. All in all I had a good time and visit. My sister and nephew joined in the festivities.

Quilting update: There are 13 steps in creating a typical quilt and I'm at steps 8-10 which is choosing the quilt batting, choosing the quilt backing and assembling the quilt sandwich. Step 7 is the finished top quilt with its uneven raw edges.
Trivia: On this day in 1535, the first complete English translation of the Bible was printed in Zurich, Switzerland and in 1648, the first volunteer fire department was established in New York by Peter Stuyvesant.
Word of the day: Fanatical - acting excessively enthusiastic; filled with extreme, unquestioned devotion
on TV tonight:
Cold CaseI'm reading
Hothouse Orchid by Stuart Woods, the fifth book in the "Holly Barker" thriller series.

I LOVE the quilt! Gorgeous, just gorgeous, Dru Ann. The patterns and colors are very soothing. I can't wait to see the finished project. :-)
