oh what a night

I arrived at the medical facility a wee bit, okay a whole lot earlier than expected and luckily the technician was ready and he took me in and I was in and out of the facility in less than 45 minutes. I have to wait for them to write their report and send to my doctor. I do know that when I left the place, my head was pounding. I know I have weather-induced migraines, but what and how I'm feeling is ridiculous.

A snowstorm, again, is predicted for our area - somewhere between 12 - 18 inches. They closed the public schools for the third time. As long as the trains are running, I'll go to work. My camera battery has been recharged to take pictures of our snowstorm. It better happen.

the day before

I did not watch the Super Bowl, so I missed the commercial. Luckily my local newspaper's website had all the commercials so I was able to watch them. Of course my favorite commercial is the one featuring the Clydesdale horses. I like the e-trade commercial with the babies on the plane.

The weather people are predicting that we will finally get a snowstorm on Wednesday. When I see it with my two eyes, then I'll believe them.

Quilting project: To the left are the four fabric patterns that I may be using, depending on what style of quilt blocks I decide to work with. If I make a sampler, I'll be using all four fabric, if I make something else, lap quilt, I'll be using the two patterned fabric plus one of the solid colors for the backing. Once I start cutting, I'll have an idea of what I'm doing.

Tomorrow morning I go for my CT scan. I have a very early appointment at 7am. I'll be up at 5 preparing myself for it. Then I'll head to work.

where has the snow gone

Today is Super Bowl Sunday and I don't care, well except for watching the commercials. I don't even know who is performing during half-time. I looked it up, it's The Who.

The snowstorm that was predicted for this past weekend, didn't come my way. Why? It dumped loads on the Eastern/Atlantic region, but a mere inch here. There's another snowstorm predicted and I know we're getting nothing.

hmm, my computer clock is off by an hour, I wonder why.

Quilting project has now been decided. My goal is to use only two fabric patterns based on red and black. I'm either going to make a sampler or a mini-quilt.

I re-organized my quilting page: www.dallsite.com/iquilts.html

short one today

I'm still dealing with the headache. Not as bad as yesterday but it's still there.

This is Restaurant Week, where you can experience a three-course lunch at some of the finest restaurants in the city. We went to a new-to-me restaurant, China Grill, where we had two appetizers, two entrees and two desserts. We got five-vegetable fried rice to accompany our meal. It was delicious and I plan to go back soon.

books galore

Winter is breaking me down. I'm fighting a headache and nothing seems to be working. Okay, I'm nauseous now so this has now become a migraine. My wrist and hands are bothering me. It's to the point where I'm wearing a sleep brace to keep the hand/wrist straight while I'm sleeping. I'll try to finish this post and shut the lights off, close my eyes and relax. I do have this book that I want to start.

So I went book shopping and picked up Truly, Madly by Heather Webber, Sleeping with Anemone by Kate Collins and Town In a Blueberry Jam by B. B. Haywood. Because B&N didn't have the others on their shelves, I ordered online Dead by Midnight by Beverly Barton, Hold on Tight by Stephanie Tyler, How to Host a Killer Party by Penny Warner, The Proof Is In the Pudding by Melinda Wells, If Books Could Kill by Kate Carlisle, The Diva Paints the Town by Krista Davis, Down River by Karen Harper and On Fire by Carla Neggers.

I'm reading Truly, Madly by Heather Webber, the first book in the new "Lucy Valentine" mystery series.

is it February yet

Yesterday was cold. I bundled up and headed on my errands. When I was waiting at the bus stop, these two guys were trying to start something. They looked like they were intoxicated, never mind that it was 11 o'clock in the morning. They kept walking behind me and this lady and I got that feeling so I kept my eyes on them and then was praying that the bus would hurry along. Finally the bus came and they got on and then was being belligerent with the other passengers and the bus driver. It was my turn to get off the bus and wouldn't you know it, they got off as well. Instead of going straight home, I took the long way home because I didn't want them to know where I lived.

I have leg warmers. They should keep my legs warm when the temperature gets below 33 degrees. But, they never stay up, always falling down to my ankles, no matter how many times I pull them up. Sometimes I tuck it in my socks, but still my legs stay cold. I have sheet grippers for my sheets. Do you know what they remind me of? A garter belt. So, yes, I took the sheet grippers and attached one end to my long shirt and the other to my leg warmers and my leg felt toasty out in the cold. Hey, you have to use what you got.
